Wooden Light Switch

This light switch, made from spruce wood, was designed for interior architecture and invites us to interact directly with the room. It merges functionality with material honesty, where the technology remains hidden to preserve the visual and tactile quality of the wooden surface.

In private homes, the interactive areas can remain completely hidden, known only to the person living there, offering a sense of intimacy and personal connection.

In more public or less familiar spaces, on the other hand, subtle visual markings on the wood surface can guide users without compromising its aesthetic integrity.

As Dr. Barbara Mutzbauer notes, the true sensation of Sensational Wood lies in the absence of disruptive “sensations.” Instead, it enhances our sensory experience with the environment in a gentle, unobtrusive way. A truly meaningful, embodied value.
